Samoan Language Week                           Celebrating Identity, Language and Culture

Tālofa, susū mai, afio mai, maliu mai! Samoan Language Week is an opportunity to promote Samoan culture and provide a great way for our tamariki to practice the language.  T This week we have been enjoying learning some of the language, songs and stories of one of our Pacific cultures.  We looked at where Samoa is in the world and have been exploring different art as we made sea turtle's, flower art, ‘ula and sei’s.  We were lucky to also have our own Samoan banquet with Sapasui that the tamariki made, taking part in the chopping, peeling and cooking, practising their culinary skills.  It was an eventful week!
