We are soo excited to introduce the latest edition to our Uxbridge Whanau! With much anticipation, we waited a two whole weeks - 16 days to be precise for our eggs to make some movement. Singing, talking, watching, waiting..... You could not believe the delight for us to come in on Monday to see 4 off our eggs had hatched. One sadly was born a little weaker than the others, having trouble with it's legs but thankfully and gratefully Somerville vets were so caring and took our baby quail in to nurse it back to health. We have such amazing people in our community!
We have now set up a home for them, with light, heat, water and food. They are so happy and so energetic!! We have named our first born "Aubree" after our beautiful friend who gifted us our incubator. Thank you Aubree! "Oooh they are so teeny", "Oooh they are so cute", "I love them" have been some of the responses.
We have to take care of them well as they are very frail in the first few weeks, this is a learning curve for us all! But there is a lot of love, so fingers crossed.
A list has been set up for potential names for our two other babies, be sure to add your suggestions!
