This week our Kindy has been glowing with colour, joy, and creativity as we celebrated Diwali the Festival of Lights! Throughout the week, our tamariki explored a range of wonderful activities that helped bring the magic of Diwali to life. The children created beautiful diyas using glitter, paint, and coloured paper, as well as rangoli-inspired pictures full of intricate patterns and bright colours. They also enjoyed shaping playdough and clay diyas, experimenting with textures and designs as they learned about this special symbol of light overcoming darkness.
We rounded up our celebrations with a vibrant midweek Diwali day bursting with colour, music, dance, and creativity! The
children worked together to help make a delicious “aloo gobi” (potato and cauliflower) curry with Anu, which we all shared for lunch. We were also
treated to sweet delights lovingly prepared by the Amarsee family, thank you again, these were such a hit!
Uxbridge was alive with fun and excitement as the
children proudly wore bindis and
cultural dress, and admired the beautiful henna patterns on their hands. It was truly a celebration of togetherness,
creativity, and cultural appreciation.
What a fantastic Diwali celebration! 🌟
