Chopsticks, ping pong balls and paint......
Another way to make a collaborative creative masterpiece!! And build on our hand-eye
co-ordination and fine motor skills. Sam, Alyssa, CJ and Leo had a lot of fun as they hit their balls to one another!

Magical music morning!!
May is Music Month!!! And we were very excited to hear The Uxbridge Art Centre was hosting a Magical music morning with award winning songwriter for kids – Claudia Robin Gunn. Known for her lullabies and gentle chill out tunes for families, Claudia also has a brand new repertoire of mat time songs to spark kids imaginations.
With tickets booked for the show, we were very much looking forward to our outing with many of our parents coming too. How exciting!!
Show day came around and we got into our groups before heading out. We were all very responsible taking the pathway and ramp to enter the Art Centre. Our faces lit up as we entered the big theatre to see picnic blankets and pillows, rows and rows of seats just like at the movies and balloons, musical instruments and a very big projector screen.
Claudia then brought her Little Wild Music to life in the theatre in this interactive morning show including sensory friendly music activities, storytelling and sing along songs. Some of our tamariki chose to head right up the front participating with scarf and leaf dancing and others joined in with the action songs from their seats.
Then we headed back to Kindy just in time for a play before lunch.

Our New Mat
We have purchased a new crash mat for jumping onto and today we tried it out for the first time. We put the mat under our playground and away we went. Such excitement and exhilaration as we experienced the joy of taking a controlled risk.
How to amuse a chicken!!
Soo.... google and pinterest told us that a way to help stimulate our chickens and keep them amused, happy and not bored was to hang a cabbage for them to play with and eat! We are all about well being and health, so decided we would try it out.....
Hanging the cabbage was a task! How could we do this? What could we use to put a hole in the cabbage? How do we make it high enough so it doesn't touch the ground? These were some interesting problems to figure out! Thanks tamariki for all your great idea's!

Leo tries making a hole with the drill |
Just a little taste.... "Mmmn I love cabbage" Leo says |
Now we have tied some string to the cabbage, is it going to work? |
Using some string we tied it between the two umbrella posts |
Finally success!! We have it hanging in the cage. Now to see what the chickens think! |
Coming to check it out! |
