"The Pizza Game"

We have been enjoying the Gingerbread Man story at kindy lately and there was a twist on the story by Hazel and with some inspiration from Eliza's memory, of playing a similar game with her Aunty Rachel.

Last Friday, Hazel found some friends to re-enact a similar story.  Hazel said it was called the Pizza Game.

Along with  Chloe R, Marley, Penelope and Eliza, Hazel started cooking up a storm.

Eliza, Chloe R and Penelope were the pizza dough, Hazel the baker.  The dough was kneaded (by rubbing their backs).

Penelope even sprinkled some "Stars" to her dough mixture.

The tapping together of the feet was "roasting" said Hazel.

Eliza suggested adding onions and said that's when you go "Chop, Chop, Chop"  Eliza likes to play this game with Aunty Rachel.  "Did you know you have to preheat the oven?"

They all took turns as the baker and as the dough.  When the baker went to the oven, they would all jump up with squeals of laughter, and run outside into the playground singing "You cant catch me, you cant catch me!"
This game was so much fun that on the following Thursday, some of the same children and some new friends began the game again, this time singing "Run Run as fast as you can!"
What an amazing display of turn-taking, compromising, following directions, creativity and a massive amount of imagination.
