What better way is there to enjoy the sunshine than creating our very own pool in the sandpit.

Te Kakano Trip for Christmas

Today our four year olds went for a trip to the Marae, Arts Centre and Library. Each stage of the trip was planned around part of the New Zealand version of the Christmas carol "The 12 days of Christmas"

Here we are waiting on the steps of the Marae to welcome our guests. We have our cards with the words the  "The Kiwi 12 Days of Christmas"in our hands. Our guests arrived and were formally welcomed on to the Marae and then we sang the first four verses of our carol together.

The Marae was set up with pictures showing the items from the different verses of the carol

Then it was time for some morning tea under the pohutukawa  tree on the lawn.  Gabriel and Lachlan are enjoying their kai

We then moved on to the Uxbridge Arts Centre for a craft experience. Alyssa is concentrating hard as she works on the Pohutukawa blossom craft.

Kai and Louie are showing off their flowers in the making.

The last stop was the library where we enjoyed listening to some stories and joining in with some action songs. Jack is enjoying listening the story - it has our old friend Little Kiwi in it!

Zoeya and Alyssa are joining in with one of the action songs at the library.

Here we are with a very special visitor who just happened to arrive at the end of the Library Session.

Christmas Bookmarks

Today we made some Christmas bookmarks using coloured paper, pastels and stickers. Those tamariki who wished to participate chose the colour of their base and then decorated them. When the decoration was completed we laminated them so they will last and decorated them with ribbon.
