What an exciting morning at Uxbridge!! Devin brought in his chrysalis's from home for us to see and they were very close to hatching. We all gathered around to get a closer look and we noticed the cocoons were a dark black but we could see the shape and pattern of the butterflies wings inside. It wasn't going to be long now!! As we waited in anticipation, the first began to hatch, as it broke out from the cocoon, it's wings were rather small but as it began to dry out and stretch it's wings, they became larger and stronger, until it was ready to fly away. It is always so amazing to watch such a special act of nature and talk with the children about the process, what a wonderful learning experience, thanks for sharing it with us Devin.
