Our Tadpoles

Since the arrival of our new friends the tadpoles, we have been learning all about the lifecycle of a frog and revisiting a favourite story called that talks about the changes.  We purchased a small lifecycle set to explore and have been watching in anticipation for changes as our tadpoles eat and grow bigger.  We love to feed them and watch them swim to the surface to eat, they are very wiggly and have really long tails.
This morning we saw some little bulges appearing at the back of our tadpole friend , could this be the start of legs??  Sadly no!
Keen to take a closer look at our tadpole figurine, we brought it to the table.  Some of us wanted to draw our own tadpole.  Still life drawing grows our observation skills.  We looked closely at all the detail taking note of the shape, colour and different features.  Look at how hard we are concentrating. Some had long tails and some had short as their tails were starting to shrink.
We gathered our drawings and chose a special place near the tadpoles to display them.  What wonderful creative pieces of artwork!

"My tadpole has a tail and legs.  He can jump and swim" says Freya

"My tadpole only has a tail, it can swim" says Macy
"He swims.  He has hands.  He can't jump" says Dror
