Te Waka Uxbridge!

It is really great to have such enthusiastic boat builders at Uxbridge.   Cardboard shaped into a tauihu (prow) and a taurapa       (sternpost), a photo of a waka and a few chairs was all the provocation you needed to get building.
“That bit’s not high enough” you pointed out Kai showing us the photo.  Getting some more cardboard and the trusty packaging tape was your solution.   Wolfgang and Zoeya were able to hold it steady whilst we taped it up.   Zoeya you made a great shape for your paddle and you have a strong paddling action.  Thanks for coming to help paddle Cambell.  We could all get a bit tired if we have a long way to go.   Wolfgang what a great idea to make a map and tape it to the seat.  “We won’t get lost now” you cheerfully explained.
Tūmeke tō mahi , fabulous work, waka crew.  You all showed a great willingness to explore this open-ended learning opportunity with you all contributing your ideas and skills to creatively construct the waka.  Where will you go now that your vessel  is built and ready to launch.
