Blessing our garden stone

With our recent works planting in the mara kai,  contributing to our community garden, we made a special stone to represent the Uxbridge kaitiaki who look after it.  Walking to the garden today as a group, we made a special visit to take a moment, place our stone and say a karakia.

E Papa
E te whanau atua
Whakatohia to koutou manaakitanga
Ki roto i tenei mahi
o matou

Sky father and Earth mother
and the family of guardians
infuse your blessings upon this work

Whilst in the garden we noticed a caterpillar on one of our swan plants, we named her Rosie.  Rosie has made the voyage back to Uxbridge to stay in a special home while we watch her transform into a beautiful butterfly.  She is looking quite plump at the moment and eating lots of leaves, we think that it will only be a few days now before she turns herself into a chrysallis.

Lucy and friends wanted to make Rosie a special sign, how thoughtful!  Rosie Elsa Caterpillar..... such a beautiful name.  We are looking forward to watching the amazing process unfold.
