Kia Orana,
We have been celebrating Cook Island Language week. We have been practicing how to say hello (Kia Orana) and Thank You (meitaki).
The tamariki have enjoyed wearing ei katu (traditional flower crowns) and flower necklaces, showing off their love for dance and music, experiencing some Cook Island music. We even had a go at using the drums, enjoying the fast tempo beat. We explored art, painting some hibiscus flowers, drum painting, turtle patterns and the Cook Island flag, then explored the beautiful ocean and sea creatures.
Happy Cook Island Language week everyone!
