Diwali , also known as the Festival of lights is one of the most significant celebrations in the Indian Culture. At Uxbridge we had a wonderful day celebrating with vibrant colours, through art work - learning about Rangoli patterns with stencils, paint and chalk. We also enjoyed making Diya with clay, expressing ourselves through colourful flick painting, outside in the sunshine, as well as fire works painting. There was beautiful music to listen too as well as watching some Diwali dancing at mat time on the ipad. Henna, and making Mango Lassi is always a favourite and there were some neat designs. The children also had the opportunity to dress up in some traditional clothing.
It looks like you all had such an amazing time celebrating Diwali!
