Outdoor sensory scavenger hunt!

Today, our little explorers embarked on an exciting sensory scavenger hunt in the outdoors! We grabbed our clipboards and pens, ready for adventure, and off we went. Using our senses smell, touch, hearing, and sight we searched for natures treasures and made fascinating discoveries along the way.

Smell: We inhaled the fresh scents of flowers.

Feel: From the smooth rocks to the rough bark, our hands explored the different textures of nature.

Listen: The rustling of leaves, the chirping of birds, and the water running down the water rill.

Sight: We looked for patterns in nature, such as the shapes and coloures of leaves, observed some patterns on the tree bark and watched worms are crawling. We also tried to spot animal tracks but couldn't find any.

Through this hands-on exploration, children tuned into their different senses as they searched for the items and sounds listed on the checklist.  From plant biology to animal behaviour, the children developed working theories about how the plant and animal world functions. Today's activity also sparked curiosity and connected our senses to the wonders of the natural world!
