celebrating Lunar New Year

This year is the Year of the Fire Horse in the Chinese zodiac. The Fire Horse represents energy, confidence, creativity, and strong spirit. People born in the Year of the Horse are said to be lively, adventurous, and full of enthusiasm...wonderful qualities to celebrate!

At Kindy, we embraced diversity by celebrating Lunar New Year through art, food, and music. The children created many beautiful artworks, including fans painted with delicate cherry blossoms, vibrant dragon pictures, and colourful lanterns that brightened our learning space.

Through these creative experiences, they enjoyed discovering traditions in a hands-on and meaningful way.

We also cooked and tasted delicious food together. The children helped prepare honey soy chicken noodles, carefully chopping vegetables and mixing the tasty sauce. We shared vegetarian dumplings as well, talking about how special foods are often enjoyed during celebrations. It was a wonderful way to explore culture, try new flavours, and come together in the spirit of community and celebration.

A big thank you to the Phromtonwong family (Oscar) for the lovely honeycomb cookies you shared with us too!.
