Hatching Eggs Adventure!!

A couple of weeks ago a carefully marked fragile box was delivered to us, and inside were seven precious chicken eggs. We gently transferred them into the incubator, making sure they were warm and safe. For some of us, this was a familiar process, but for others it was a brand‑new experience filled with curiosity.

Over the weeks, we watched the eggs closely, counting down on the calendar. We explored posters and books to learn what was happening inside the shells, imagining the tiny chicks growing and getting ready to hatch.

Today brought the most wonderful surprise — two fluffy baby chicks had already arrived when we walked in! They were tiny, soft, and impossibly cute. As the day went on, we were lucky enough to witness four more chicks hatch right before our eyes. Watching the eggs begin to pip was incredibly exciting, and we learned just how much effort it takes for a chick to break free.

The brooder was all set up, their new cozy home. We set up a heat pad, fresh water, and food, and when their feathers had dried out we transferred them. They all huddled under the heat pad.

We can’t wait to watch them grow and to have the chance to hold them in the days and weeks ahead and have started a list of potential chicken names.
