Wow! Our very own Doc Ranger!

Elle, it was so wonderful to hear about your experience as a Doc Ranger at the Zoo.  Thanks for sharing.  You are showing what a great Kaitiaki you are!!  So caring and compassionate about our looking after our environment and the people and animals in it.  Ka Rawe!!

Mum shares with us a copy of Elle's letter that she had sent in to the Department of Conservation and the facebook post.

Last week, we received a lovely message about a 4-year-old girl named Elle who wants to be a DOC ranger when she grows up.
She loves learning about the Kiwi and the Kakariki – writing to us saying: “Dear DOC Rangers keep saving the kiwi. When I grow up meet me in the forest. I’ll join in!”
In celebrating Conservation Week, we invited Elle to be a support ranger at Auckland Zoo. Usually tiaras aren’t in the uniform code, but we made an exception this time! πŸ‘‘
Awesome to have you on board Elle, along with Kiwibank Conservation Dogs Pai and Piri! πŸΆπŸΆ

  1. It was an incredible experience. Elle was also super excited to know what Kaitiaki meant. It was written in signs all around the zoo and thanks to her learning her she knew exactly what that meant when I read the signs to her. YAHOO
