Day 3 - A treat from Elf

I’m having so much fun hanging out with you,

I love all your art work and your Christmas decorations too

Today I’ve brought a recipe but not something you can eat,

It’s to make a decoration, I bet they will look neat.

This is called salt dough,  the dough you need to make,

Then roll it and shape and put it in the oven to bake

Then you can paint it and hang it on the tree,

But before you get started make sure that you’ve found me.

A recipe for a xmas decoration, how fab is that! We eagerly gathered around the table to get started.

We mixed together the flour and salt in a large mixing bowl, then stirred the water measure in.

Then we rolled the dough out on a flat surface and chose what shape we would like to make, there was a choice of star, heart, xmas tree and gingerbread man.  We also had to put a tiny hole at the top so we could thread some ribbon through to hang.

Once our ornaments were ready it was into the oven to cook

Then time to decorate!  With an array of colours and glirrer, we had some beautiful decorations to take home and put on our trees!
