Making Worm Juice!

The amazing power of worm juice! Happy fertilizing everyone!!

Did you know that our tiger worms in our worm farm are awesome recyclers too!

They have been busy making their way through all our delicious leftover scraps each day.  Once they digest the scraps, they produce a nutrient rich liquid (worm wee/tea) and castings (worm poop) that can be re-used to fertilize our garden, so all our beautiful plants, vege’s grow big and strong!  Worm tea adds beneficial microbes, and the microbes puts nitrogen back to the soil; making it available for plants to absorb. It’s a great way to boost your garden!

Before giving worm juice to plants, you have to dilute it with water about 10:1 to the colour of weak tea.  Then you can use as a fertilizer!

Very carefully Chloe and Aria funnel the worm tea into the bottle

Writing labels for our worm tea, we got to practice our early literacy skills.

Cohen and Gemma wanted to add some wriggly worms to their labels

Toby just loved him worm juice so much he wanted to make two.  One for him and one for Chloe.
That was so thoughtful Toby.

Our bottles are all ready to go!
When our worms produce some more juice, we might look at making bottles to sell!
