Tanabata 2023

Happy Tanabata!

This is a special Japanese Star festival that recognizes the same star cluster that we celebrate for Matariki.

Following Japanese traditions, we made bright coloured lanterns and made a wish to send up to the stars. These are called Tanzaku and are hung on a bamboo tree. We loved sharing our wishes with one another.

Here were some of our wishes.....

I wish to go to Australia to see my Aunty Leah - Chloe A
