Firefighter Sally

 

Firefighter Sally has come to visit the children a few times now! On her first visit she was so impressed that the children could explain in detail the parts of a fire engine and on the second visit the tamariki helped her pick out her uniform to go to a fire. The children are enjoying the fire wise song Get Out, Stay Out and performed this to Sally with beautiful actions too. They know the phone number needed to call fire, police and ambulance and we have spoken about going through to comms first, to say which service you need. Incredible learning for our children and we will continue to explore fire saftey here at Uxbridge ELC. 

Now is a great time to talk to your children at home about where to meet outside (a place often referred to in fire-wise is the letterbox, if this suits your place of residence), should you need an exit plan in case of an emergency.

I wonder if Firefighter Sally will come again and what she will get up to next time!
