St Johns Ambulance at Uxbridge!!

Today we had a visit from Kassandra the St Johns Ambulance officer and her special friend Amby the tiny ambulance. Kassandra explained to us that the ambulance officers help people who are very sick or very hurt and then played a fun game with us to see if we knew which emergency service to call based on the pictures she showed us. We had sounds and actions for ambulance, police and fire service. We also saw some of the equipment that is in an ambulance and Kassandra showed us how an oxygen mask works, we even got to sit in a circle and feel the vapour coming out of the mask. Next two of our friends Chloe and Toby got dressed up as ambulance officers, Chloe was given a stethoscope for us to look at and  Toby handed out bandages so we could try bandaging our friends. Then we talked about the number to call for an ambulance 111 and Kassandra read us a story about someone who needed to ring an Ambulance. It was time to say goodbye to Kassandra and Amby but they left us some colouring sheets, stickers and a special certificate for each of us for completing the session.
