Conservation Week/Te Wiki Tiaki Ao Tūroa

Whether it is picking up rubbish, donating time or money to a local community group, there is always something you can do to help our environment and the native species that make Aotearoa special.

This week at Uxbridge we have had a focus on how we can be responsible citizens and contribute to taking care of our planet Earth, we are learning how to be great kaitiaki's. Nā wai ēnei and Papatuanuku has a tummy ache have been great books aiding our learning around this.  Tangaroa said "If you look after me, I will look after you"

Oh no! Our sea creatures were feeling really unhappy, sad!  There water was polluted with rubbish, the Ocean is sick, what can we do to help out?

Recycling and putting our rubbish in the right bins is a way we can help too.....

As we made our pictures of the world, we also talked about ways we can help out and look after our environment.
