The day we made a pool together....

Mahi Ngātahi

Ehara taku toa i te toa takitahi.Engari, he toa takitini.

Success is not the work of one but the work of many.

Working together to solve a problem is an essential skill that children develop through collaborative play.  In the sandpit today for example the children came together to construct a pool.  They are learning to communicate and negotiate with their peers, sharing ideas and working towards a common goal.  This type of cooperative play promotes team work, empathy and problem solving abilities all of which are valuable skills that will benefit them in various aspects later in  life.  Te Whaariki emphasizes the importance of fostering social and emotional development. This was also a great opportunity for children contribute as well as them all acknowledging that everyone is able to be included no matter what age they are.  We had our project managers,  our friends with lots of muscles, our leaders, and everyone's strengths were needed.  What a great moment to capture with a lot of laughter and fun.
