Eddie then started to show the children how they get dressed before they go into a house so they don't get burnt.
The boots and trousers went on first, followed by a material hoodie, then the big heavy jacket.
Eddie showed us the noisy oxygen tank so he doesn't breathe in any smoke.
The tanks looked heavy and were strapped onto his back
Eddie told us that we didn't have to be scared of them in their gear. All the children went very quiet at this stage. Then we all had to crawl out under a black sheet (pretend smoke) and go outside to our Assembly Area, then we walked up to the carpark and investigated the fire engine.
Rob showed us all of the equipment under the sliding panels on the side of the truck
Here we all had turns using the fire hose to see if we could hit the target cone.
Firefighter Devin went first.
Firefighter Finn
Firefighter Gareth
Firefighter Jack
Firefighter Isaac
Firefighter Ari
Firefighter Noah
Firefighter Esmond
Firefighter Evan
Firefighter Kain
Firefighter Kailah
Firefighter Leo
Firefighter Iris
We even climbed up inside the fire truck.
So much to look at inside the engine.
A big thank you to Dave and the Crew from the Howick fire service.
We even saw the lights flashing as we waved them goodbye.
