Silver was the decided colour for the fuel tanks.."They will need oil in the tanks too" Leo told everyone as we were painting the tanks. We discussed how these needed to be attached to the side of the rocket and will drop away once they are empty.
A Pointy Top:
A pointy top is an essential part of a rocket everyone agreed but how do we make a pointy top.
It was great to here the children's suggestions that we needed triangles, so with some help with the measurements, Haley cut us out some triangles and Alyssa held them in place to engineer our pointy top together (with lots of sticky tape).
"We should make it rainbow coloured and put on glitter to light the way"was the suggestion so that it what we did. Going with the Rainbow theme the children asked for some Uxbridge Rainbows to stick on the point so everyone would know who the Rocket belonged to... This was a very good idea... it turned out great.
Next mission for our Rocket scientists:
Steering wheels and controllers!
