Oh No! A leak.

Yesterday we encountered a slight problem at the Centre when our tap nozzle broke right off our hose tap.

Water was everywhere and we needed lots of helpers to catch the water so it wouldn’t be wasted whilst the plumber got there!

Great teamwork followed as children, teachers and parents helped to off load the water to the trough, to the garden, to the mud pit and to the boat channels! With the water restrictions in place we haven’t had much water to play with so although it was a problem, we had a silver lining...an abundance of water fun!

Take a look at how engaged our tamariki were at all the different activities on offer:

The mud pit was full of.. wait... are they children or Mud monsters?

“ I’ll leave home and stay in this forever” Maya

“ I jump in it.”- Ted

“It’s so slippery, mooshy and slimy"

“ It made a funny noise. “ Stevie was reffering to the squealching as she lifted her feet up and down. She even returned for more mudpit fun today.

“ I want to do this every day!”-Leo G

"My feet look like troll feet!” Lēo squealed

“ let’s get the dump trucks in!” Roman suggested

Off to the foot spa to clean off!

Leela was captivated by catching the fish and transferring them to a smaller cup.” Look at all these fish I caught” she said proudly

Levi balanced toys on top of the boats, precious cargo as they went around the channels and parked.

Toby enjoyed the water channels!

Emma did lots of pouring practise!

Some of our friends decided that mud wasn’t for them and were quite perplexed as to why anyone would want to jump in that brown, oozy stuff! Whilst others giggled watching from the sidelines.

And because we know all about conserving water, we saved some for tomorrow too.
