Uxbridge Cupcakery

Our special cake book has sparked so much interest that we just had to turn the tamariki's dreams of sweet cakes into a reality. It was time to let their imaginations run wild...It was time to create their individual masterpieces.

We used fondant to create exquisite toppers using all of our skills learnt from the play doh table; indents, moulding, twisting, cutting. Our fine motor skills really came into play here. Some of our designs were quite intricate.

Developing real world skills and learning how we create food.
Perfect egg crack!

Pouring practise!

Butter starts with  B sound!

Check out how carefully we had to measure it to pour it in. Aim and pour.

Now it was time to top the cakes with the creations. We took turns to pipe the different colours onto our cupcakes. Once spread, the colours blended creating a beautiful marble effect.

The final touch of the fondant on top proved to evoke some big smiles. The tamariki ( and teachers) were so proud of the end results. There was only one thing left to do.... Eat it- YUM!
