                    Samoan Language Week

                          Celebrating Identity, Language and Culture

Tālofa, susū mai, afio mai, maliu mai!

Samoan Language Week is an opportunity to promote Samoan culture and provide a great way for our tamariki to practice the language.

T

This week we have been enjoying learning some of the language, songs and stories of one of our Pacific cultures.  We have also been exploring different art as we made

hibiscus flower screen prints, tapa cloths, ‘ula and sei’s.  On Tuesday we
were lucky to have our own Samoan banquet with Sapasui that the tamariki
made and on Thursday/Friday we also sampled some of the Island’s fruit –
pineapple, coconut, and mango.  This was a bit of a treat!  It was an eventful week!

Catch some of the photo's below!
