Matariki Glow Show!

The Glow Show was visiting the Uxbridge Arts Centre and we were very excited to be attending the performance.

When we arrived at the theatre we were lucky to find a spot on the mats right up the front so we made ourselves comfortable and waited for the show to begin. Suddenly all the lights went out and the theatre went dark. "Wow" and "Oooo"  exclaimed some of our friends as big, bright glow in the dark puppets appeared on the stage. They told us the story of Waipuna-a-rangi one of the stars of Matariki who got separated from her whānau and ended up in the sea. With help from Tangaroa guardian of the sea, a magical taniwha named Haututū, some sea creatures and Tāwhirimātea kaitiaki of the wind she went on a journey to find her way home. We all really enjoyed the show which had action, music and lots of really beautiful puppets. What a great addition to our Matariki celebrations.
