All children love bubbles! As follow on from our recent experiment with dishwashing liquid and a variety of bubble making tools (whisks, egg beaters, potato mashers etc) some of us got involved in making "bubble art". We had coloured water (dye) and dishwashing liquid mixed together. Children then placed a new clean straw inside the mixture, and had to use the air in their lungs to blow through the straw to create a big bubble balloon! Children listened carefully about using their breath like they do to blow candles out...or like how when they pretend to be the big bad wolf, trying to blow the little pig's house down. This was great for body awareness and breath control. Children loved the fact that exhaling through a straw was creating so many bubbles! It often looked like a bubble tower, bubbles stacked on bubbles! They then had to place a piece of paper gently on top to capture the different colours and patterns. What a lot of fun!
