Science Discovery
Absorption
The children at Uxbridge are really getting involved in all things science and learning new scientific terms. Today we were discovering what would happen when we use liquid and paper towels.
The children had to predict what the liquid was;
"I think its dye"
"Its not going to explode"
"liquid is heavier than water thats what liquid is"
"They are not the same colours"
"1 has bubbles 2 of the water don't"
It is so cool to see the children really observing and figuring out what could happen.
"I think it will go everywhere on the paper towel the liquid".
"Its definitely going to come out and explode on the paper"
"I think the paper will rip".
The children each took turns to use the pippetes and squeeze the coloured water onto the paper towels. They all watched in amazement as the colours danced on the paper towel and magically made new colours.
"Look the colour is getting bigger on the paper but its not a big blob with bubbles like before".
"I want to see what happens if we add yellow".
"I think the yellow one is vinegar, the red is water, the blue just dye".
Lots of discussions and predictions and point of views were happening. We cannot want to revisit this and add some more variants.
