An action packed fun filled day of sports and games!! Our athletes tested their abilities, practiced and refined skills and learnt that participating and trying new things can be fun!
Go Team Uxbridge!!
Batter up! Lining up to hit the soft ball off the stand was not so easy. This is great for developing hand eye co-ordination.
Aiming well enough to get the ball into the hole takes concentration!! This was very popular so we had to be patient and wait for our turn.
Sometimes it took several tries to be successful which was great for building perseverance.
A direct hit!!
Here we are using pool noodles to steer the ball in and out of the skittles. Although this was lots of fun it also took lots of concentration and co-ordination.
Strike!! Bowling was lots of fun and it was so satisfying to see the skittles fall over.
We learned about different types of sports equipment and looked at the difference between a rugby ball, a soccer ball, a basket ball and a tennis ball.
We also explored different equipment used for guiding and hitting balls such as rackets, bats, sticks and even pool noodles.
Shuttlecocks were something very different to try and hit with a racket. Hitting one of these successfully took lots of experimentation and practice.
