Messy paint and making marks

Wow did some of our tamariki's eyes light up as they walked into kindy today to find paint splattered all over the table! It didn't take long before fingers smooshed the paint, swirls were made in it, utensils made marks in it. Sensory fun for all those that wished and tools provided for those that didn't wish to get messy but still wanted to join in on the fun!

Guess what?! The clean up was just as good. Slippery with extra water added, it was no job too big for this tidy up team who giggled, smooshed cleaning cloths through and dripped water all over the tepu ( table)!

Check out the dream team on clean up!

Sensory exploration can provide a calming/ soothing effect for children, its mesmerising for some,  it helps to learn about different textures, we explored vocabulary, colour mixing and patterns and today we even wrote our names in the paint.

It's okay to get messy and super okay when we have helpers tidy up like today too!
